Description/Details
A federal income-support program providing up to 26 weeks of temporary financial assistance to eligible workers who are unable to work due to illness, injury, quarantine, or other medical conditions. Successful applicants receive 55% of their average weekly earnings, up to a maximum statutory limit, and must provide a medical certificate confirming their inability to work.
How to access it
You can apply online through Service Canada as soon as you stop working, even before receiving your Record of Employment (ROE) or your completed medical certificate (Form INS5140) signed by a medical practitioner
