Brain Injury NS is partnering with Independent Living Nova Scotia (ILNS) to offer two new workshops on March 10th for Brain Injury survivors and families about how to open a Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP).
This workshop is a good opportunity for you and your family if:
-You qualify for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC);
-You are a Canadian resident with a Social Insurance Number (SIN);
-You are 59 years old* or younger.
(*If you are 49 years old or younger, you may also qualify for the Canada Disability Savings Grant. This will be covered in the workshop as well).
A Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) is a federal savings plan to help parents and others save for the long-term financial security of a person with a disability like a brain injury.
Forms and applications can sometimes be a barrier for our brain injury survivors and we want to help you with these challenges so you can access this important program. ILNS, who is delivering the 30-minute workshop, will also be available to offer one-on-one support to help you complete the necessary documents to apply for the Disability Tax Credit after the workshop.
